Exyte Hargreaves have worked with Challenge Consulting and Bridgwater & Taunton College to further develop the ILM Level 3 in Construction and Leadership training course to include a nuclear safety module for colleagues leading the Conventional Island, Hinkley Point C project.

ILM training Hinkley Point C

Several of our colleagues have begun the ILM training to enhance their performance and further develop their skills, knowledge, capabilities and competencies to become more effective in their roles as leaders as part of their continued development. The course has been specially enhanced by Challenge Consulting with the addition of a nuclear safety module which is being delivered through Bridgwater & Taunton College, a key delivery partner of EDF Energy.

The ILM training will also cover a range of subjects to better equip our colleagues for leading the project which is playing an integral role in helping Britain achieve net zero including modules on leadership and management practice, understanding commercial awareness, handling difficult situations and achieving performance through people.

Exyte Hargreaves recently mobilised to site on Conventional Island, Hinkley Point C and are already delivering on our commitment to make a positive impact socially and economically, investing in upskilling the workforce and creating new career and training opportunities. The business has worked with Challenge Consulting and EDF Energy’s training partner of choice, Bridgwater & Taunton College to support the local community and economy.

Dawn Edwards, MD of Challenge Consulting said “It’s been a pleasure for our trainers to work with Exyte Hargreaves and to design a programme specifically for the needs of the organisation and based around it’s own values. We also considered the roles of the individuals who would be participating in the training to ensure case studies and examples were relevant and directly applicable to the workplace. The ILM in Leadership & Management for the Construction and the Built Environment Sector, with the Nuclear Safety Unit is a truly specialised qualification which will ensure the attendees are equipped and ready to lead others on these exciting new projects. The feedback we have had from delegates is that they have found the training programme both engaging and valuable and they will of course receive a highly regarded qualification too”.
